Plan to slug solar panel owners more

The chairman of WA’s power supplier, Synergy, has warned of a shake-up of electricity prices in Western Australia.

Lyndon Rowe, who will outline his plans at a CEDA forum today, will call for consumers to pay more for power at peak times and for households with solar panels to pay an increased fee to connect to the grid.

Mr Rowe has told Gary Adshead on 6PR Mornings that something has to change.

Lobby group Solar Citizens has dismissed the calls from the Synergy Chairman, to get households with solar panels to pay more to connect to the grid.

Spokesman Reece Turner has told Gary Adshead on 6PR Mornings, the move doesn’t make sense.
