John Farnham’s family has shared an update on his health as he recovers in hospital after marathon surgery to remove a cancerous tumour from his mouth.

The music icon underwent 12-hour surgery on August 23.

Jill Farnham has today provided an update on John’s condition.

He remains in a stable condition in ICU.

“He is awake and responding well to the care he’s receiving,” the statement said.

The Farnham family have thanked well-wishers for their messages, and a website — weloveyoujohn.com.au — has been established today for fans to send messages of support to John and the family.

“It’s pretty basic, but it’s a destination to send messages to (him),” he told Gareth Parker.

“We’re doing this completely with the permission of John’s wife Jill and his son,

“There was so much love floating around last week, so people now have somewhere they can send it.”
