Traffic controller Tristan Thomson’s life changed forever when he was forced to have his leg amputated after being hit by a drunk driver in 2021 but his experience has inspired him to help other amputees in their recovery.

He spoke to 6PR Mornings host Gary Adshead and said rehabilitation was “hard” but his determination to get back to work, normal life and playing sport with his kids pushed him through the process.

“At one stage I never thought I was going to walk again and now I’m running my own photography company,” Mr Thomson said.
