Olwyn crosses WA coast

Article image for Olwyn crosses WA coast

Cyclone Olwyn crossed the WA coast line near Exmouth early Tuesday morning packing winds of up to 195km/h.

Residents in Exmouth and Coral Bay will have to wait until later this morning to assess the full extent of damage – after Cyclone OLWYN passed by.

The category three system is now sitting just south-west of Coral Bay – it’s hugging the coast as it tracks south.

There’s been at least eight calls for SES assistance in Exmouth – mostly for roof damage.

Perth’s also expected to see some impact over the weekend – with up to 50 millimetres of rain forecast.
