Sydney Sixers batter Nic Maddinson says it’s “a great thing” that Cricket Australia has opted to expand the league this season.

43 BBL matches will be played this year, an increase of seven from previous seasons.

The 25-year-old told Macquarie Cricket pre-game that he welcomed the extra home match at the SCG.

“Our team plays well at that ground,” Maddinson said.

“The more games, the better.”
