New guidelines are calling for an “absolute minimum” of 21 days off for players who are concussed.

The Australian Institute of Sport has released guidelines covering everyone who participates in sport, apart from those at the elite level, in response to last year’s Senate inquiry into head trauma in contact sports.

Chief medical officer at the AIS, Dr David Hughes, told Millsy and Karl “this is absolutely where concussion care needs to go”, and he’d encourage professional sporting leagues to “get on board”.
