An international team led by astronomers from WA universities has discovered a new type of stellar object that challenges our understanding of neutron stars – some of the densest and most extreme objects in the universe.

Dr Natasha Hurley-Walker is an Astrophysicist from Curtin University’s International Centre for Radio Astronomy Research and spoke with Julie-anne Sprague on Afternoons.

“It probably isn’t a normal star like our sun, we think that it could be something much stranger,” Dr Hurley-Walker said.
