There have been questions levelled in Parliament about a ‘mysterious seven’ who will be granted ‘working with children’ cards despite chequered histories.

Opposition Legal Affairs spokesperson Nick Goiran has pushed for more information on the seven people, who via a new scheme would not be granted a new card but still can through a loophole in the categorising system.

“What we have been told is that they are a group of class two offences that both parties have agreed are so bad they should be upgraded to class one,” he told 6PR Mornings host Gary Adshead.

“I’m mindful of the time that we are having this interview, but they are what any fair-minded West Australian would regard as heinous offences … they’re absolutely shocking.”
