Carlton is through to a preliminary final and match-winner Blake Acres spoke to the 6PR commentary team immediately following the upset victory.

With less than a minute to go, Acres took a mark in front of goal and immediately played on.

“I didn’t want to go back and have a set shot, I’d have been poo-ing myself I reckon.”

The shot was agonisingly close to the post for Blues fans, and former teammate David Mundy asked Acres just how close it was.

“About half a metre I reckon Dave. As I said, I wasn’t going to have a set shot!”
