A family run pizza place in Perth has taken out Menulog’s People’s Choice Award for the second year in a  row.

Mario Franchina from Mario’s Pizza in Dianella beat more than 1,000 other restaurants to take out the title again and he attributes it to their old-fashioned style.

“Honestly, we keep it simple. My mum used to make pizzas for me at home,” the man himself told 6PR Breakfast.
“We kind of have a 1980s, 1970s style pizza. They’re gas flamed baked, we use mother dough, an aged mother dough,” Mario says.
“The dough is the foundation to a good pizza.”
