Lycett’s penance paid

Adam Simpson says Scott Lycett is in line for a recall into the West Coast Eagles team this Thursday night to take on Essendon.

With Nic Naitanui recovering from an Achilles injury, Lycett was set to carry the ruck duties only to suffer a club imposed suspension.

It was rumoured the 23-year-old was out drinking and missed a compulsory meeting with Karl Langdon reporting he believes it was not his first offence.

Lycett recorded a best afield performance with 26 possessions, 27 hit outs, eight marks and a goal.

‘He went back and displayed the right attitude he needed to,’ Simpson said on Sports Today

‘He’s also done a few things with the playing group and the coaching group that tell us he’s ready to move, so that’s what we’ll do.’

The Eagles coach has big week with West Coast celebrating their 2006 Premiership reunion and Simpson heading to Melbourne for North Melbourne’s 1996 reunion.

Simpson joking, ‘you could do a doco on both of those teams.’
