Lunar litter: Leftover rocket booster to crash into the moon

Three tonnes of space junk is on a collision course with the moon.
The leftover rocket booster is expected to smash into the far side of the moon tomorrow night, meaning the crater won’t be visible from Earth.
The lunar junk is believed to have been travelling through space since China launched the rocket nearly a decade ago.
Astrophysicist Brad Tucker told Gareth Parker on 6PR Breakfast it’s not likely to do any major damage.
“It’s travelling a mere 20,000kmh, so it will leave quite a big crater… it’s not going to destroy the moon, it’s not going to do anything bad but you know, it’s not pleasing to the moon,” he said.
