Dr Rosemary Coates lost her long-term partner when she was struck by a texting driver while riding her bike near Kings Park.

On Friday, Joanne Leigh Lawrence was sentenced to three years jail, after pleading guilty to dangerous driving causing the death of 70 Dr Paola Ferroni in November 2014.

But Dr Coates has told Gary Adshead on the 6PR Morning Program, she believes Lawrence should have received a lifetime driving ban.
