Jayden Hunt’s silver lining
Paul Roos has spoken about the silver lining for Jayden Hunt after a couple of seasons lost to injury.
Hunt was drafted at pick 57 in 2013 before a long-term back injury ruined his 2014 and carried over into 2015.
This season Hunt has played 11 consecutive games since round four when he made his debut.
The 21-year-old Hunt recorded 14 possessions and kicked his first AFL goal in Sunday’s loss to Adelaide.
Speaking on 882 6PR, Brad Hardie asked where the Demons had been hiding the Casey Scorpions product.
‘He’s a terrific young kid. He had a few back issues last year and didn’t play a lot of footy,’ Roos said.
‘Often, as frustrated as they get, it actually helps them because they can develop their body. We saw that with Jesse Hogan.
‘They put some weight on, do their training and they get a bit fitter and stronger.
‘Look it’s probably surprised a few of us.’
