A local cricket bowler achieved a rare cricketing feat over the weekend.

‘Howzat’ told the John Hughes Rumour File that a Murdoch University Melville bowler took a double hat trick in his first over, a hat trick in the second, and another hat trick in his third to finish.

Caller Alby confirmed the rumour shortly after saying that the man in the rumour was Johnny Morany and is a ‘belter of a bowler’.

“It was a great set of bowling,” he said. 

“Every bloke that came off wasn’t smacking the bat or anything… they were saying that was an absolute pace of a ball!”

The man himself, Johnny Moran, joined Gareth Parker on 6PR Breakfast to explain how it all went down. 

“I hadn’t picked up a cricket ball in a year,” he said,

“It was all a bit weird, to be honest,

“I won’t be able to retire now; it was just one of those magic days.”
