Home is where the Eagles heart is

West Coast Eagles defender Brad Sheppard says the Eagles aren’t shying away from their recent run of poor away from.

The Eagles are winless in their last five games away from home with four losses and a draw if you include the Grand Final.

West Coast’s last away win came in round 16 against 2015 bottom-eight team Collingwood at Docklands.

Under Adam Simpson, the Eagles are 1-6 on the road against top-eight teams, with that record worsened to 1-8 if Hawthorn and Sydney go on to play finals this season.

The one win in round 12 last year against Richmond.

‘We’ve got a lot of room for improvement, we’re not shying away from that,’ Sheppard said.

‘We know that the last five or six games away from home haven’t been ideal.

‘We’ll get back to the drawing board and make sure we identify those areas, train well and hopefully get the wins we need when we head over East.’
