Hawks Snatch Win From Eagles

Article image for Hawks Snatch Win From Eagles

In an action packed final quarter, the Hawks snatched the lead from the Eagles who lead at every break except for when it counted. A Luke Bruest kick put the visitors in front with only minutes left and two of his Hawthorn teammates sealed the deal for the 14-point win at Domain Stadium, 11.8 (74) to 13.10 (88).

The West Coast Eagles lead by three goals at the first break and continued to push Hawthorn to their limits in the slippery conditions. The wind and rain didn’t stop Josh Kennedy’s accurate kicking, with the Eagles forward managing four goals.

The Hawks answered back with Bruest kicking three goals and inspiring Shaun Burgoyne and Jarryd Roughead to add to the scoreline in the final minutes.
