Business groups will be keeping a close eye on today’s National Cabinet meeting as the country’s leaders discuss easing supply chain issues.

There are shortages already in WA supermarkets ahead of the slated February 5 reopening of borders, with claims potential problems were flagged months ago.

Additional sectors such as transport and logistics are likely to be added to the current list of essential services during today’s meeting, which means staff won’t be required to isolate if they are deemed close contacts of COVID-19 cases and return a negative test.

National Retail Association chief executive Dominique Lamb told Larry Graham on 6PR Mornings the supply issues would only get worse if changes aren’t made now.
