The parents of a woman, who last year took her own life while waiting to come home to WA, say the state never reached out after their heartbreaking border lockout.

The WA government twice rejected Robyn D’Argent’s applications for G2G passes despite her willingness to enter quarantine and already being fully vaccinated.

Her parents, Alain and Gillian, flew to Sydney when Robyn, who had been diagnosed with depression, eventually took her own life on December 1.

Incredibly, it took Alain raising their story on 6PR Mornings for police to cave and grant the grief-stricken parents a pass to come home.

Despite the family’s tribulations with WA’s stringent border rules, Alain says the state government has never been in contact to apologise.

“Had my daughter been able to come home, the story might have been different,” he told Liam Bartlett.

“She might still be alive today and nobody’s even said sorry, which is shameful of the government.”
