Article image for GAME DAY: Eagles win over promising Roos

A determined Eagles team took on a depleted North Melbourne side with West Coast walking away with a convincing 32-point win at Domain Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The Eagles controlled the game from the start with two quick goals and the Kangaroos were constantly playing catch up. Todd Goldstein was on fire for his side controlling the clearances finishing with 65 hit outs and kicking an early goal. But as each quarter went on West Coast extended their lead finishing16.8 (104) NM 11.6 (72).

It was a bad day out for North Melbourne, Nick Dal Santo was a late withdrawal due to illness and the ‘Roos finished the game with two on the bench after Farren Ray came off the ground in the second quarter with a hamstring injury and Mason Wood limped off the ground at the end of the third quarter.

Josh Kennedy finished with four goals for the Eagles and North’s Ben Brown also kicked four goals including one from a tight angle while under pressure.
