Freo Start Finals With A Thriller

The Fremantle Dockers have fought off a determined Sydney Swans side to run out nine point winners at Domain Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

It was a tight contest for most of the game with both teams struggling to find the goals in the windy conditions, but Fremantle stayed in touch and in front for the 10.9(69) to 7.18(60).

Hayden Ballantyne was a welcomed return to the Dockers side with his three goals to match Michael Walters’ three majors. Aaron Sandilands 43 hit outs were crucial while Nat Fyfe clocked up in impressive 32 disposals.

Kurt Tippett was outstanding for the Swans with his three goals, but the Swans had a big set back with Sam Reid injuring his hamstring in the second quarter.
