Federal Treasurer ‘not flash’ on Grylls’ plan to tax mining giants

Federal Treasurer Scott Morrison has smacked down Brendon Grylls’ plan to increase taxes on mining giants Rio Tinto and BHP.
Grylls, the new leader of the WA Nationals, proposed a tax of $5 per tonne of iron ore on the two mining companies in a bid to repair the state’s finances.
Morrison was fairly blunt in his response when Gary Adshead asked for his thoughts on the proposal.
