EXCLUSIVE: New flexible payment options for naughty WA drivers

Simon Beaumont

WA motorists can soon pay infringement fines in part payments but the Road Safety Commission has no intention of privatising the operation of next-generation speed cameras.

Road Safety commissioner Adrian Warner revealed to Simon Beaumont on 6PR Mornings a new payment system will allow for fines to be paid incrementally.

“We think it’s a very important thing, particularly for people on lower incomes,” Warner said.

Earlier, opposition spokesperson for road safety, Martin Aldridge, told Beaumont there is limited information about WA’s new speed camera proposal, with technology used for the cameras likely to privatised.
