Dr Adam Best, CSIRO Senior Principal Research Scientist and battery safety expert, told Perth Live host Oliver Peterson that many cheaper batteries and cables lack essential safety features.

He stressed the growing risk, saying: “As more and more of these batteries go out into society to electrify our lives there’s just going to be more chances of these types of hazards and fires and we need to do all that we can to make these batteries safe,” he said.
