6PM – WA polls close + ‘pretty devastating’ news for LNP
We’ll start to get the early WA numbers soon.

5.56PM – Peter Dutton ‘in strife’ as early numbers indicate six per cent swing for ALP
The Defence Minister is in troubled waters as the numbers roll in, showing an early lead for ALP rival Ali France.
Dickson is one of five seats Anthony Albanese has hoped to secure in Queensland.
5.31PM – Political analyst Martin Drum on the early trends
“I can tell you we’re seeing a big swing away from the major parties, but the bigger swing is away from the Liberal Party,” Martin Drum told 6PR.
“We can predict with great confidence that they’ve lost majority government, the only question is whether Labor has got enough seats to from government themselves.”
NOW | “Western Australia matters and that’s what’s particularly exciting in this election from a WA point of view – there are really seats in play in the west.
“We may still not have a result by the end of the night.”
