Eagles take to the Magpies at the MCG

The West Coast Eagles have claimed a 35-point win over Collingwood at the MCG, their first win over the Pies on the hallowed turf since 1995, and they did it without Nic Naitanui for half the match.
Naitanui went down with a knee injury late in the second quarter with his coach, Adam Simpson confirming on Fox Sports at half time, it was his “other knee” (his right, good knee) and it doesn’t look great.

But the Eagles didn’t let the big man get them down with Willie Rioli conjuring up some magic for three impressive goals to lead his team to the 9.13 (67) 15.12 (102).
#DidYouKnow Jack Darling’s first goal of the game was his 300th career goal.

The win over the Collingwood has pushed the Eagles up to second equal with Richomond’s 12 wins.
Hear how the game played out…
“We defended really well, because they like to come through the corridor a lot and use their hands and I thought we stopped that pretty well,” Jack Redden told 6PR after the Eagles win.
“We don’t know, but it doesn’t look good… The fact is Nic may not be available for the rest of the year,” Adam Simpson said about Nic Naitanui’s injury.
