Businessman John Poynton has rejected claims he is part of a silent coup and says Premier Colin Barnett should look at the results of polling rather than criticising those organising it.

Mr Barnett told ABC Radio this morning that private polling commissioned by Mr Poynton was akin to a silent coup.

But Mr Poynton says that it’s time for the Premier to start working on winning next year’s state election.

He spoke with Adam Shand.
