Concerns raised over review into WA’s COVID-19 response

Questions have been raised around the public’s involvement in the panel who will review the State Governments’ response to the Covid-19 pandemic, as the harsh border caused agony for many inside and outside of WA.
Alain and Gillian D’Argent were parents of 31-year-old Robyn, who’d moved to Sydney in 2020. Suffering from PSTD and depression, she made two applications under WA’s pandemic-era G2G pass system to return home to her family.
Robyn was denied entry into WA and unable to cope, she took her own life.
“Basically from what I’ve heard is that they don’t want the public involved – What are we hiding? Why don’t we want the public involved?” Robyn’s father, Alain D’Argent told Gary Adshead on 6PR Mornings.

“For people like us who would like to put in a submission, obviously they are trying to shut it down – and it’s a typical McGowan Government sort of plan.
A State Government spokesperson has responded to this question.
“People can provide a written submission to the review.
“The independent reviewers will consult widely to ensure public sector agencies, peak industry bodies and community organisations are heard, but witnesses will not be compelled to provide testimony.”
