Calls for family of prison officer who ran ‘Squid Game-esque’ facility to face legal action

There are calls for the family of a deceased prison officer who ran a South Korean prison called The Brothers Home, a facility which has been likened to the Netflix hit Squid Game, to face legal action.
Senior reporter with Al Jazeera, Mary-Ann Jolley, broke the story of the officer, Park In-Keun, and the facility that he operated during the 1970 and 80s.

In-Keun then fled to Australia having reportedly embezzled millions of dollars from inmates at the prison before dying in Sydney two years ago.
Now the victims families are calling for that wealth to be returned.
“They own a golf driving range,” Ms Jolley said on 6PR Mornings.
“Which is currently …. for sale for $15 million.
“Basically the money that bought that … the victims believe the money came from their slave labour, and that money should be returned and used to compensate them.”
