BREAKING: Albanese announces wording of Voice question

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has officially announced the official wording of the Voice to Parliament referendum question, which have been formally adopted by the government.
As Mr Albanese detailed, the wording is: “A proposed law: to alter the Constitution to recognise the First Peoples of Australia by establishing an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voice; do you support this proposed alteration?”
MrĀ Albanese said he hoped the referendum would receive “the strongest possible support from Australia”, and the potential legislation would not take decision-making power away from government or parliament.

Northern Territory senator Jacinta Nampijinpa Price has been outspoken about her opposition to the referendum, and told Gary Adshead onĀ 6PR Mornings she did not believe Mr Albanese was sincere about his pledge to represent Indigenous communities.
“If the Prime Minister was really serious and really did hold his heart on his sleeve, then at least one of the members of his government would have stopped to listen to the voices of Aboriginal people, some who travelled [for] two days from remote communities to state the reasons why they didn’t support the referendum,” she said.
