The City of Bunbury has voted to give councillors a 10% pay rise from July. It will mean elected member entitlements rise from $28,141 to $31,678 for each councillor.

Four of the thirteen councillors voted not to give themselves a pay rise including Mayor Miguel but some councillors have described it as “if you pay peanuts, you get monkeys” and that their worth needs to be valued.
