The State Government is reforming the social housing waitlist—the first such change since the 1950s—to prioritise applicants with the “greatest need”.

Housing Minister John Carey told 6PR Drive host Jamie Burnett that the housing sector supports the move.

“Nearly every other state does this and they are housing at rates of more than 80 per cent of the people they’re housing are with greatest need. I do note the whole sector is supporting these reforms,” he said.
