Former Labor MP Alannah MacTiernan has flagged her support for the federal government’s investor tax reforms but has urged Anthony Albanese to scale back certain elements.

The long-time proponent of capital gains and negative gearing reform told 6PR Drive host Jamie Burnett that extending changes to include businesses and shares has made the policy “problematic”.

“Bringing in the other asset classes, businesses and shares, and all of those things coming into the capital gains. That has made that more problematic”, she said.
