In a strange twist of bureaucracy, a State Government Standing Committee is currently getting paid for doing nothing.

Greens Member for the South Metropolitan Region Brad Pettit has raised the issue, but told Gary Adshead on 6PR Mornings he didn’t blame the committee’s members.

“I know they’re keen to meet, and I know they’re frustrated they’ve been put on a committee that has no work,” Mr Pettit said.

“There’s no reason for them to meet, because they’ve got no legislation to scrutinize.”
