Thousands of Aussies are being urged to check their phones before it’s too late, with the planned switch-off of the 3G network later this year.

EFTM’s Trevor Long told Millsy and Karl on 6PR Breakfast the public has been warned off the switch-off for five years, but there’s some surprising technical issues that may mean it affects more customers than planned.

“I respect Telstra for their work in building coverage, but let’s be real,” Mr Long said.

“Mobile phone coverage in Australia is 25 to 30 per cent of the land mass; that needs to change.”
