When purchasing a product it is expected that any issues should be able to be repaired, however, increasingly in Australia, many products are designed so they cannot be fixed.

Legal barriers are also making it near impossible for some products to be repaired, such as washing machines and fridges.

Professor of Law at Griffith University Leanne Wiseman told Julie-anne Sprague on 6PR Afternoons is calling for a right-to-repair policy.

“It’s to do with design and quality of the product,” said Professor Wiseman.
