Following the third group of asylum seekers hitting WA’s north, questions have arisen regarding the military presence along the coastline.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese told Oliver Peterson on Perth Live, “Operation Sovereign Borders is in place. When there was an arrival there last weekend, that was dealt with swiftly in accordance with our policies.

“We are boosting our defense forces right across the north and boosting our defense forces right across across Australia. Operation Sovereign Boarders has never had as much funding in its history as it has today.

“We’ve increased funding and that is very clear,” Mr Albanese continued.
