The head of UFC Australia says Premier Colin Barnett’s problem with the sport is one of optics.

UFC Australia, New Zealand and Canada Executive Vice President and General Manager Tom Wright says the sport has a strong focus on rules & competitor safety and bans on the ‘cage’ UFC fighters compete in is a visual problem.

He says the Western Australian ban is unnecessary and hopes WA politicians will look at the sport from an objective level.
