A federal parliamentary inquiry into the live music industry has held a public hearing in Perth.

Livia Carre, Executive Director of the WA Music Industry Association, spoke to 6PR Afternoons host Julie-anne Sprague on the struggles of local artists and need for government intervention.

“We need to prepare our artists for export, there’s no point nurturing them at home then they’ve got nowhere to go,” she said.
