The WA State of Volunteering Report has been released today and it has revealed that volunteers contributed close to $64 billion to the state economy last year.

Volunteering WA Chief Executive Tina Williams joined Julie-anne Sprague on 6PR Afternoons to discuss the report’s findings.

“The biggest shift that we are seeing at the moment are the number of volunteers generally, we’re seeing 1.5 million people volunteering in Western Australia, just to put that into scope, that is the  largest industry by employment,” Ms Williams said.

“Our numbers are looking really positive in comparison to the rest of Australia.”
