World-renowned for playing Chandler Bing on Friends, actor Matthew Perry has passed away at the age of 54.

A Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman confirmed on US media they had received a 911 call for a water emergency at an area matching Perry’s address, which later became a death investigation.

6PR and Nine News US correspondent Jonathon Kearsley told Millsy and Karl on 6PR Breakfast Perry’s battles with addiction were well-known.

“It’ very sadly, made life very difficult for him,” Mr Kearsley said.
