Trucks are parked up across the state as haulage companies struggle to find drivers in a tight labour market.

Western Roads Federation Chief Executive Cam Dumesny told Juile-anne Sprague on 6PR Afternoons mature aged women and migrants might be the key to getting trucks back on the road.

‘Our industry has largely always been built on migrants”…“Women are a largely an untapped resource for our industry,” Mr Dumesny said.

‘It’s a major issue it’s not just in the south west it’s right across the state in the Goldfields and right up in the Pilbara we got trucks parked up because we don’t have drivers”.
