THE URN IS RETURNED! Australia have cruised home to regain the most famous trophy in Cricket history. England were bowled out for 218.

Dawid Malan did his best to dig in and bring the visitors something to cheer about, but none of the English batsmen couldn’t put together any meaningful partnerships after being torn apart by the exceptional Australian bowling.

The Urn has been returned to Australia after they lost it in England 4 years ago. Series turns to Melbourne on Boxing Day as the English look to regain some credibility in the series.

Josh Hazelwood took 5/48 as he ran through the English lineup on the final day.

Re live the exciting final moments:

======

The Australians have dismissed Stuart Broad and are now only one wicket away from regaining the Ashes. Pat Cummins got the Broad wicket as the country holds its breath to see if the Aussies can regain the famous Urn.

======

Nathan Lyon has dismissed Mooen Ali for the fifth time this series after hitting the English all-rounder on the pads where he was judged to be out.

Lyon hit Ali on the pads the previous delivery but he was given not out by the on field umpire before hitting the pads again the following delivery where he was judged to be out. Lyon has had Moeen Ali’s measure this series dismissing him five out of six times in the three Test Matches.

======

Josh Hazelwood has taken a wicket with his first ball on Day 5, dismissing English wicket keeper Jonny Bairstow for 14, without adding to his overnight score.

Hazelwood was able to get the ball to shape away slightly and stay low as Bairstow played the wrong line of the ball, before seeing the bails fly.

WE HAVE PLAY! Cummins takes the ball to finish his over! Let’s hope the rain stays away in Perth!

Australia need 7 wickets to regain the Ashes!

=======

The ground staff had a rough time of things this morning! They don’t often put the covers on at the WACA to be fair!

======

Play will resume at 12:45 (Perth time)/ 3:45 AEDT barring any more rain. There will be a 60 overs bowled in the day.

======

Play will be delayed with rain falling heavily in Perth. Start time is unknown at this point. Stay tuned here for further updates.

======

Rain halted play an hour before the end which means we will start 30 minutes earlier today. Australia are seven wickets away from claiming the Ashes, but with rain around, the English might be able to salvage a draw and keep the series alive.

Australia made light work of the English top order with Josh Hazelwood claiming key wickets of Mark Stoneman for 3 and the out of form Alistair Cook for 14. Nathan Lyon got the big wicket of Joe Root, who edged to Steve Smith at slip for 14. Mitchell Starc joined the party late in proceedings with one of the ‘balls of the summer’ to remove James Vince for 55.
