‘The AFL is a disgrace’

Former Hawthorn President Jeff Kennett has weighed into the Essendon doping scandal saying AFL commissioners who were party to the deliberations in the saga should resign or be sacked.

Thirty-four past and present Essendon players have been banned from playing until November 2016 for their roles in the supplements program run at the club in 2012.

Mr Kennett, who spent six years at the Hawks, said the AFL should not have interfered in the process once ASADA became involved and should have stayed independent.

He spoke with Adam Shand.
