Simpson: We didn’t handle the pressure

Adam Simpson says his West Coast Eagles side ‘didn’t handle the pressure’ applied by Hawthorn in Sunday’s 46-point loss.
The Eagles faced the exact same losing margin as in last year’s Grand Final.
Karl Langdon critical of West Coast’s kicking citing Andrew Gaff (66.7 per cent disposal efficiency), Matt Priddis (57.9 per cent) and Josh Kennedy (50 per cent) as some of their leading ball getters who disposed of the football poorly.
‘What essentially we reviewed today is we didn’t handle the pressure and then it becomes perceived pressure,’ he said.
‘That’s what is so disappointing, we know we’ve got skill and we’ve got good ball use and we can rely on our mids to get it done.
‘But for whatever reason and it’s something we’ve got to address we couldn’t use the ball well and then that just feeds in to all other things as well.’
