Shannon Hurn named West Coast Eagles captain

Newly-appointed West Coast captain Shannon Hurn said that the one big thing that he learned from the men that held the role before him was to keep it simple.
And that’s what he plans to do.
He got off to a good start when asked by the media in front of the entire club what type of captain he wanted to be. He answered, simply, "a premiership one!"
Hurn, 27, was named the Eagles 10th skipper on Monday, taking over from Darren Glass who retired midway through last season.
Hurn, Josh Kennedy, Eric Mackenzie and Brownlow medallist Matt Priddis rotated through the captaincy in the back half of 2014 ? and Scott Selwood, who was sidelined with injury for most of that time, was also considered a strong contender.
