Sandilands delay

Article image for Sandilands delay

Brad Hardie says Aaron Sandilands’ recovery from his broken ribs is moving slowly and he may not even resume training for another five or six weeks.

Sandilands was flattened by opposite number Nic Naitanui and had to be taken to hospital by ambulance at half-time and needed an oxygen mask.

The 211cm giant is listed on the AFL website as 4-6 weeks away on an injury list that includes Brownlow medallist Nat Fyfe (fractured leg), star recruit Harley Bennell (calf), captain David Mundy (calf), Alex Pearce (leg), Michael Johnson (hamstring/knee).

However, Hardie says he may not even resume training in the next five or six weeks.
