‘Born to be wild’ called into Monday’s rumour file to tell 6PR Breakfast that a newborn baby was delivered on the side of Mitchell Freeway.

Dramatic scenes were seen as the newborn was so eager to make her entrance into the world, her parents were forced to pull over and deliver the baby in the emergency lane.

Father, Courtney confirmed the rumour on Tuesday, saying his wife and baby Macy are recovering well.

“No one can prepare you for that – the missus water broke at home and we hustled our stuff together, threw her in the car – got onto the freeway and she just had this almighty contraction,” Courtney said.

“She said ‘I think it’s coming’ and I was like you’ll be alright and then I looked down and I could see the baby’s head looking at me.”
