Keen-eyed music fans have picked apart an ad in a small British newspaper and believe it points to the first recorded tunes from the Rolling Stones in two decades.

The band themselves have neither confirmed nor denied the news, but multiple clues in the advertisement allegedly sync up with the band’s own milestones.

Entertainment reporter Peter Ford told Millsy and Karl on 6PR Breakfast it’s a pretty ingenious piece of promotion.

“There’s also a phone number there as well; there’s some interesting little tidbits on what might be coming,” Mr Ford said.
