The State government is preparing to announce a new social housing project in Subiaco, aiming to address local housing needs. Supporters and community members are organising a rally to coincide with the announcement.

The gathering will take place outside Fraser Suites on Saturday morning.

Rally organiser at Homes Not Hotels Ben Stephenson joined Perth Today and said “we’re not against social housing, but we are for the best possible habitable spaces for people who are coming in.

“We want to stop the band-aid solution.”

“Transparency seems to be a bit lost, we aren’t building that trust with the current decision makers,” he said.
